Weekly Class

Weekly class for A.T. teachers and experienced pupils

Thursdays, 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. in Wilmslow from 11th January 2018*

The Manchester Training School for Teachers (MATTS) is closing at the end of October. In addition to training teachers, MATTS has had several other important functions: it has offered a friendly and supportive environment and CPD for teachers, mentoring for new teachers and an opportunity for potential trainees and enthusiastic pupils to benefit from a professional training environment.

In order to provide a continuing home for these other activities there will be a continuing regular weekly class on Thursdays in Wilmslow from January 2018.

This class is open to all A.T teachers, trainee teachers, prospective trainees and experienced pupils.

In the classes we will explore together some of the basic principles of the A.T, mostly through practical activites, exactly as happens in a traditional A.T. training course for teachers.

In addition to myself and several other very experienced teachers, regular teachers will include Malcolm Williamson, the retiring director of MATTS.

After some time, should there be sufficient interest, these classes may form the basis for a new professional training course for teachers.

Please return to this page for updated information regarding dates, location, etc, or contact me to request your addition to the mailing list for regular updates. If you have already received an email about these classes, then you are on the mailing list.

*Following the formal closure of MATTS at the end of October, there will be a Thursday class at the usual location in Didsbury from 9th November to 14th December 2017. The class re-starts in Wilmslow on 11th January 2017. The classes will run approximately along the lines of school terms and exact dates will be sent to the email list and published here before the end of the year.
